Safeguarding Children Procedures

These procedures apply to all children and young people aged under the age of 18 years who live in Dudley borough. They also apply to unborn children.

They are addressed to all organisations, agencies and individuals who work with children and young people in Dudley, including those whose work with adults brings them into contact with children and young people. They set out how agencies will work together to protect children and young people from harm and safeguard and promote their welfare.

  • Part "A" Core Safeguarding Children Procedure

    The Procedures in Part "A" will apply to all children in respect of whom there is a child protection concern. Where it may also be necessary to apply an additional process this is cross-referenced to the relevant section in Part "B".  Part "C" contains the procedures requirements relating to the special circumstances of some children.  Further sources of information to which staff may need to refer are cross-referenced to Part "D".        

  • Part "B" Specific Safeguarding Children Procedures

    Part "B" contains specific procedures which will not apply to all situations. They are cross referenced throughout with the "Core" Safeguarding Children Procedures in Part "A." Procedures relating to the special circumstances of some children are set out in Part “C” Additional sources of information to which staff may need to refer are cross referenced to Part "D."

  • Part "C" Children in Special Circumstances

    This section contains procedures relating to the special circumstances of some children. They are cross-referenced to the “Core” Safeguarding Procedures in Part “A”, and additional procedures that might be needed in Part “B”. Additional sources of information to which staff may need to refer are cross referenced to Part "D."

  • Part "D" Reference Section

    Part "D" contains a number reference sections to which staff may need to refer in applying the procedures in Parts "A", "B," or “C.”
